More kitten update

Can you tell by now I like my cat and her kittens??? They're so cute! I can totally hold one in my hand! By now they can yawn and stretch their little paws! Their paws are only the width of my pinky, but already they can stretch their toes out! They tend to clamber all over each other and stay in a little clump of fur when mom's not around. When they realize she's not there, they go to sleep. They can even fight eachother a little bit!

Mamma Baby lets me hold them, too, because she has incredible trust in me. They scream for a second when I pick them up, then they sniff around trying to find someone familiar like their siblings or their mamma and keep sniffing back and forth until I put them down. They don't wander around very much. Their bed is about a foot by two feet, and they've stayed in that general location all their lives so far, except when I pick them up.

I can't wait until they grow into the little curious critters with big eyes and tails straight up! It'll be so fun to have 4 little kittens chasing a string together! Maybe even mamma will play a bit, too! She's not playful now, though. Four kittens to take care of is a lot of work!

We still haven't gotten batteries for the camera. I do have pictures of the kittens, though, but they're on my phone and I can't figure out how to get them to the computer.

It's official!!!

The names of the kittens are now official!
In order from oldest to youngest:

Catapultanian - boy - grey tabby with white underbelly and neck
Flazer - boy - grey/gold tabby
Patteron DeBak - girl - dark grey
Siren - boy - black with white underbelly

Catapultanian has always been more outgoing, mobile, and talkative than the rest.
Too young to tell what character traits the rest have that will make them distinct. But I'll know eventually since I'll have them living with me until November.

Kittens Names...

Woohoo!!! I gotta name the kittens! But what??? The naming of cats is a difficult matter... Ooops, I gotta be careful lest I steal some words that someone else has said.

The Naming of Cats

~~T. S. Eliot~~

The Naming of cats is a difficult matter,
It isn't just one of your holiday games;
You may think at first I'm as mad as a hatter
When I tell you, a cat must have THREE DIFFERENT NAMES.

First of all, there's the name that the family use daily,
Such as Peter, Augustus, Alonzo or James,
Such as Victor or Johnathan, George or Bill Bailey -
All of them sensible everyday names.

There are fancier names if you think they sound sweeter,
Some for the gentlemen, some for the dames:
Such as Plato, Admetus, Electra, Demeter -
But all of them sensible everyday names.

But I tell you, a cat needs a name that's particular,
A name that's peculiar, and more dignified,
Else how can he keep up his tail perpendicular,
Or spread out his whiskers, or cherish his pride?

Of names of this kind, I can give you a quorum,
Such as Munkustrap, Quaxo, or Coricopat,
Such as Bombalurina, or else Jellylorum -
Names that never belong to more than one cat.

But above and beyond there's still one name left over,
And that is the name that you never will guess;
The name that no human research can discover -
But THE CAT HIMSELF KNOWS, and will never confess.

When you notice a cat in profound meditation,
The reason, I tell you, is always the same:
His mind is engaged in a rapt contemplation
Of the thought, of the thought, of the thought of his name:
His ineffable effable
Effanineffable
Deep and inscrutable singular Name.

So, without further adoo, here are the names I've created that run along the lines of that poem:
(Anyone feel free to use these names on other cats and dogs)
Short (Long)

Herbie (Herbazina of Nascar) or (male: Herbazino...)
Zip (Zip Zip du Outer Space)
Flazer (Flying around and Flashing his Light Saber)
Heliopatter
JubJub (Jub Jub Descrumptinano)
Kam (Kampetuous Neliance)
Forelumpaheado
Catapultanian
Tweezerpie
Pat (Patteron DeBack) or (male: Pattimon DeBack)
Sticker (Stickertape Fusion)

But after contemplating which names of this list to name them, I came up with some favorites:

Catapultanian
Flazer
Patteron DeBack
Siren

And I have decided what to name them, though it is more like a complicated system of what gender they all are. The oldest boy is Catapultanian. I think it's the oldest kitten -the grey and white one- that's the oldest boy. The youngest -the black and white one- whether boy or girl is siren. For the middle two, it depends, and It'll be a while to know which one is Flazer, and which is Pat. And these names are only until we find new owners for them and they name them something else. Though, if the owners would like to keep the names, that's great, too. :)

Silver

Pix of when she was a kitten:

Will add more pix of her as a pregnant momma, and of her babies when they're born later.

Silver, my momma baby (I've always called her baby, but now she's going to be a momma) is my kitty. Her birthday is something like August 28, though can't remember exactly. I got her for my birthday last year. Aww maaan, what a cutie! But what a yummy treat for all the fleas of the world! They seem to love her, but we don't love the fleas. I'm so exited about her new babies! They're due sometime this week, she could even have them tonight perhaps. It will be so exiting to wake up one morning and hear a bunch of mew's! Until then, her favorite hobby these days is resting. Resting, and resting, she lies around all day long! I've been feeding her kitten food to keep her babies healthy, and we aren't letting her outside lest she decide outside is the good place to have them. Man is she tiny, though! Well, besides her big tummy of course. She is five pounds WITH her babies! Imagine her weight when she doesn't have lil ones in her belly! It's easier to hold her because of her weight and size, though. And she's incredibly skinny. I read an article on the internet of how to take care of pregnant cats, and it said to let them eat as much as they want, as long as they don't get fat. HA! No chance of her getting fat! She never has been, never will be. And to make matters worse, or well to make her small size even more pronounced, She has the thinnest fur in the whole world. Now, I've seen cats that they claim are short haired though they do not look at all short haired because they're pooooofy. But my cat is short haired, and it's obvious. It's thin, silky, and flat. I've been good to her. Always have been, and always will be. Her trust is incredible! I can totally roll in a rolly chair toward her at a highish rate of speed and she won't budge or even look. And I can even swing my foot about a half inch in front of her face, and she only twitches because it tickles her whiskers! Normally when I hold her, she doesn't or didn't dig her claws into me. At this point, she sort of does occasionally, but if I ask her not to, she doesn't. She's not even scared of Dad! Well, she doesn't really want him to pick her up, which is fine since he doesn't want to hold her, but she's not scared of him or anything. What a good cat!

First post on normal blog...

One time there was this guy that was stranded alone on an island for years and years. Finally these guys in a boat traveling in the area found him and rescued him. While they were on the island they saw three huts.
"What's the first hut for?" they asked.
"That's where I live," he replied.
"What's the second hut for?"
"That's the church I go to."
"What's the third hut for?"
"That's the church I used to go to."
